I really like the scene of the Narrative's equipment being removed intercut with Jona's suit being taken off. Both are done piece by piece and both come across as equally procedural and impersonal. It's common for a Gundam story to tell us a character is being used as nothing more than a weapon or machine by the cold authorities, but this scene gets that same idea across visually and it works just as well if not even better. Sunrise has revealed 4 key visual images in their latest live stream presentation on November 21st 2018, showing crossovers of their previous anime series as a part of their Mobile Suit Gundam "BEYOND" Project. First image shows Gundam 0079 with Amuro Ray and RX-78-2 Gundam reflecting in Banagher Links' space helmet, second image is Mikazuki with Gundam Barbatos Lupus and ELS Setsuna with the flower from Gundam 00, third image shows the Wing Gundam, Heero Yuy and Kamille Bidan, 4th image has Gundam G-Self, young Char, and young Sayla running towards Zenam Bellri! Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash Sunrise also revealed a concept art image for the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash which leads to their UC NexT 0100 project that continues the Universal Century's story line from UC0093: Char's Counterattack. The UC NexT 0100 project was first announced in Sunrise's live-stream presentation in April, 2018. The project will continue the UC story line 100 years after the Char's counterattack in 0093 UC timeline. The classic 1988 animated feature film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack will once again be shown in theaters for a one-night screening event. Set in the Universal Century timeline of the famous mecha anime series, this film was the first original theatrical release from the franchise. The movie has been considered an iconic anime movie and considered by many to be a masterpiece of anime cinema. In the movie, we see the two best rival mobile suit pilots Amuro Ray and Char Aznable face against each other in a final epic duel, as Char’s Neo-Jion attempts to drop a gigantic meteor and nuclear weapons on Earth to wipe out life on the planet. The story was adapted from Mobile Suit Gundam: High Streaming which was a novel written by series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The film made it’s debut in 1988 and not only was it the first movie from the franchise but it was also the first Gundam production that used computer graphics during a five-second shot of the Sweetwater colony rotating in space. In addition to the screening, those in attendance will also be treated to an exclusive interview with Gundam creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino. But that’s not all, fans will also be treated to some newly captured content from Anime NYC 2019. Tickets are currently on sale at selected theaters and can be purchased at Fathom Events or at participating theaters. The screening will be held on December 5th at 7 PM local time. Fingers crossed that you’ll be able to enjoy this one night only event at one of the four hundred selected movie theaters. While there have been a number of different "celebrations" to kick off the fortieth anniversary of Mobile Suit: Gundam, this upcoming one night event from Fathom Events is taking us back into the past of the franchise with one of the most recognizable characters of the anime. Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack will be re-releasing into theaters for one night only on December 5th, 2019 thanks to Fathom, having us re-enter the world Amuro and Char. While this may not be a "Gundam Satellite" or a brand new anime, we know plenty of fans of the mech suit franchise will jump at the chance to see this movie return into theaters.
